Managing Discomfort
Obtaining a blood sample for monitoring may cause some discomfort. Here are some hints that may help minimize
the discomfort of taking a sample:
- Increase circulation to your fingers by washing your hands in warm water or
shaking your arms.
- Use the sides of the fingertips where there are fewer nerve endings.
- Rotate the site (using different fingers or an alternate site if appropriate)
